CHICAGO (AP) - Cook County prosecutors are accusing an 18-year-old Chicago man of fatally shooting a rival gang member whose sister was dating someone in the accused man’s gang.

Antonio Vera was ordered held in lieu of $750,000 bail in the July 12 death of 17-year-old James R. Moore.

The Chicago Tribune reports (https://trib.in/29N1mfs ) prosecutors say Vera and three others spotted rival gang member Moore on a street in the Morgan Park neighborhood and shot him.

According to prosecutors, a witness identified Vera as the shooter and police arrested him a short time later with a gun later determined to be used in the shooting.

Prosecutors say they later learned the alleged conflict began because Moore’s sister was dating one of the people who were with Vera at the time of the shooting.

It wasn’t immediately known if Vera has a lawyer.
