WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania university student convicted of raping an unconscious woman in her dorm room after she told him she was a virgin will spend six to 12 years in prison.

The (West Chester) Daily Local News (https://bit.ly/2a8DEtr ) reports 20-year-old Kyle Vo, of Whitpain, was sentenced Tuesday.

He was convicted in April and has been expelled from West Chester University.

According to trial testimony, Vo and the woman were drinking alcohol and talking about sexual experiences in a group of other students. After the woman acknowledged she was a virgin and hoped to remain so, Vo left and returned with a bottle of vodka and started drinking shots with her.

She testified she awoke to find Vo raping her.

Vo’s lawyer argued that the encounter was consensual.
