DETROIT (AP) - A man has been charged with murder after authorities say he struck an 81-year-old man with a car in Detroit before fleeing the scene.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says 42-year-old Tywaun Tramel Coakley of Detroit is charged with murder, manslaughter with a motor vehicle, failure to stop at an accident resulting in death and felonious assault following the death of Roberto Ybarra of Detroit.

Coakley was arraigned on Wednesday and ordered held without bond. A not guilty plea was entered. Records didn’t list a lawyer on record for him.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Coakley stole a car on Sunday morning and, shortly afterward, hit Ybarra while he was standing by a car. Police later arrested Coakley.
