DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man shot this week by Davenport police officers, as well as the names of the officers involved.

The department said Wednesday in a news release that 19-year-old Rodricco Radell Parks Jr., of Davenport, was shot in the early morning hours Tuesday after officers responded to a report of shots being fired. The officers reported that they saw a vehicle racing away from the area and sought to stop it.

The officers say they fired at the vehicle when it rammed a police cruiser. The vehicle was later found empty, but police say they found the driver at a hospital getting treatment for a gunshot wound.

Police say the two officers who fired their service weapons are Shawn Sullivan and Andrew Weingart.
