NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - The death of a man found face down and unresponsive in a New Britain park has been ruled a homicide.

Police Capt. Thomas Steck said in a statement Wednesday that the man identified as 41-year-old Donzie Taylor died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Taylor was found by a passer-by Tuesday morning on a driveway between a baseball field and a skate park at Stanley Quarter Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Taylor’s last known address was in Middletown and he had no known connection to the area where he was located. New Britain police say they had no previous history with Taylor.

Anyone with information about the victim is asked to contact police.
