SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - Former UCLA standout Riza Zalameda has been hired as the head women’s tennis coach at Seton Hall.

Athletic Director Patrick Lyons announced the hiring on Wednesday.

A 2008 graduate of UCLA, Zalameda spent the past four years as the assistant women’s tennis coach at Columbia, where she helped lead the Lions to two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Before her work at Columbia, Zalameda spent four years on the WTA tour.

Zalameda was one of the most highly decorated players in UCLA women’s tennis history. In her four-year career, she was an eight-time ITA Division I All-American in singles and doubles. She led the Bruins to their first NCAA team championship in 2008, and later won the NCAA Doubles Championship with Tracy Lin.
