RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A campaign has raised $10,000 so far for a playground that will be built to honor a 2-year-old Rapid City boy who died in February after being struck by a pickup truck on a road just north of the city.

KELO-TV (https://bit.ly/2akrkYo ) reports that volunteers, many of them firefighters in Rapid City, have agreed to build the playground honoring Seth Brien.

The cost of the playground is estimated to be around $12,000.

Seth was walking on the roadway on the evening of Feb. 25, when he and a 3-year-old girl riding a tricycle were hit by the truck. The boy died at the scene, and the girl suffered serious injuries.
