BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. (AP) - A Belle Fourche motorist accused of hitting a go-cart during a Fourth of July parade in the city has been charged with felony hit and run.

Authorities allege 28-year-old Eric Jaramillo crashed his car into the go-cart then left the scene. He was arrested at his home two days later. The 53-year-old go-cart driver suffered unknown injuries.

The Black Hills Pioneer reports (https://bit.ly/29VSCVE ) that Jaramillo faces a felony charge punishable by up to two years in prison, along with some misdemeanor counts. He is scheduled to enter pleas Aug. 17.

It wasn’t clear if Jaramillo has an attorney. A home telephone listing for him couldn’t be found.
