COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - A significant southern Indiana bridge is temporarily taking on a new look to support law enforcement officers.

The (Columbus) Republic reports (https://bit.ly/2ae4HFa ) the Robert N. Stewart Bridge in Columbus will be illuminated in blue for one week beginning Friday.

The architecturally significant bridge spans the East Fork of the White River on eastbound Indiana 46. It’s fully suspended, and the 40 cables that support the structure are in the shape of a fan.

It’s named after a late, three-term mayor of Columbus. It’s also known as the Second Street Bridge.
