GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 36-year-old Gulfport woman has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in 2014.

District Attorney Joel Smith tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/29XNhu7) Lacritia Summerlin entered the guilty plea this week before Harrison County Circuit Judge Lisa Dodson. Dodson set a sentencing hearing for Sept. 12.

A teller told police that a woman had approached her window on Sept. 19, 2014, and pulled a handgun from her waistband. Smith says she demanded cash and told The First Bank teller to not push the alarm button.

Arriving officers noticed a cellphone in the parking lot and determined it belonged to Summerlin.

Smith says investigators found her in her apartment with money and a handgun.

When confronted with the evidence, Smith says Summerlin confessed to the armed robbery.
