TALALA, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Nowata man was killed when the pickup truck he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer rig in northeastern Oklahoma.

The OHP says 48-year-old Giles Vaughn Jr. died in the collision near Talala about 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

An OHP report says Vaughn was southbound on US Highway 169 when his truck crossed the centerline and struck the rear dual wheels of oncoming semi.

The driver of the semi was treated and released at a Nowata hospital.

The roadway was shut down for just more than 3 ½ hours following the crash.
