PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Providence man who pleaded guilty to luring a 17-year-old girl from Texas to Rhode Island for prostitution is seeking to withdraw his plea.

The Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/29NpLRX ) reports that a hearing to determine whether 35-year-old Dujuan Harris is allowed to do so was put on hold after a new defense lawyer was assigned to his case.

Harris pleaded guilty in December to sex trafficking a child and possession of child pornography. He moved to withdraw those pleas at a sentencing hearing in May.

Authorities say Harris repeatedly offered the victim up for prostitution using photographs of her in ads he posted on Backpage.com.

The girl, now 18, testified last week and denied engaging in prostitution. A judge said her testimony was not credible.
