PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police say a 6-year-old girl who was shot in the head Sunday night in Pittsburgh has died.

Isis Allen was pronounced dead at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Nineteen-year-old Kamau Thomas Jr. was charged Monday with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment and related offenses. Police say those charges would be upgraded since the case has been reclassified as a homicide.

The shooting happened in the city’s Knoxville neighborhood late Sunday. Investigators say Allen was walking with an adult past a home when shots were fired in the direction of a porch where multiple people were gathered, and the girl was caught in the crossfire.

Thomas is being held at the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail. It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment.
