RENO, Nev. (AP) - The city of Reno has reached an agreement with the Reno Firefighters Association to partially staff some closed stations with medical response units.

Firefighters Association officials say medical response units will move into closed stations in Caughlin Ranch and Somersett. Officials say medical response services will be improved, though the neighborhoods will still have slower fire response times.

The two stations have been closed since the city encountered financial difficulties amid the recession five years ago.

The partial-staffing agreement comes after years of labor negotiations between the association and city officials.
