LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A Lafayette Parish grand jury has indicted two men accused of killing a man and woman who firefighters found in burning cars in Scott and Carencro in June.

The Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/2afcClQ ) 22-year-old Joseph Sylvester and 32-year-old Joshua Willis were indicted for first-degree murder for the June 21 deaths of 23-year-old Ashley Nicole Metz and 22-year-old Brouklynn Hill.

Sylvester and Willis were arrested a couple days after Scott firefighters discovered Metz’s body and Carencro firefighters found Hill’s body.

Officials didn’t immediately explain why the men might have killed the couple. It’s unclear whether they have lawyers.
