IRVINGTON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are searching for the cause of a blaze that ripped through a northern New Jersey home, leaving an 18-year-old man dead.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2a0NU3H ) the blaze broke out around 2 a.m. Thursday in Irvington and Jeremiah Maxfield was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:30 a.m.

Investigators say two other people were in the two-story home when it caught fire but escaped unharmed.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
