MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - A Cannon Ball man accused of killing two people and injuring two others while driving drunk is headed to trial.

Court documents show a four-day trial has been scheduled beginning Oct. 25 for 29-year-old K Riley Plenty Chief. He faces felony criminal vehicular homicide and vehicular injury charges that could land him in prison for 50 years if he’s convicted.

Authorities allege Plenty Chief was driving a vehicle that crashed head-on into a car on state Highway 1806 south of Mandan on April 14. The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/29TpXdR) that prosecutors believe the crash was suicidal rather than accidental.

Plenty Chief has pleaded not guilty.
