LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Authorities say a father and son found dead were likely electrocuted by a power line while doing maintenance work on the roof of a Lynchburg home.

The Lynchburg Police Department says in a news release that 55-year-old Timothy Chittum Sr. and 26-year-old Timothy Chittum Jr., both of Lynchburg, were discovered dead in the yard of the home Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say the men had been doing chimney work on the house when their ladder touched a high-voltage electrical power line.

Authorities say the bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office to confirm the cause and manner of deaths.
