DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - A Darlington man is going to prison for years after being convicted in a 2014 shooting death.

Local media outlets report that Circuit Judge Roger Henderson sentenced 26-year-old Joey Gibson on Thursday to 55 years in prison after a jury convicted Gibson of murder and a weapons charge.

The charges stemmed from the shooting death of Gary Evans Walker, who was found shot to death on a Darlington street in August of 2014.
