WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (AP) - Officials in Wrightsville Beach say ocean rescue crews have saved 29 swimmers who were caught in rip currents.

Local media outlets report Thursday’s rescues came as red flags were posted on the beach warning people to be careful in the water.

In addition, authorities say as many as 15 people were rescued from rip currents at Carolina Beach.
