AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Signs with blue bow ties are appearing all over Auburn as part of the city’s transportation safety campaign.

Opelika-Auburn News (https://bit.ly/29SsNjx ) reports that the campaign, Travel with Care, is preparing to launch its 2016 summer edition next week.

The campaign addresses transportation safety concerns in all transportation situations including driving, cycling, walking and riding a transit. This summer’s theme is entitled “Know When To Go” and seeks to educate the community about right-of-way laws and failure to yield.

The Alabama Department of Transportation says that failing to heed right-of-way signs is the leading cause of accidents in the state.

The campaign was launched in 2010 by the city of Auburn and Auburn University.
