BANGOR, Maine (AP) - The Maine Public Broadcasting Network will be televising the high school basketball tournament championships for the next three years.

MPBN and the Maine Principals’ Association announced the agreement this week that calls for all five boys’ and girls’ classes to be televised.

The agreement calls for payments of $10,000 to the MPA during each year of the contact.

Basketball tournament games are played in Bangor, Augusta and Portland. Dick Durost, executive director of the MPA, said he’s pleased to continue the tradition with MPBN. He said it’s what basketball fans have come to expect.
