ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A man jailed on charges that he robbed a Pennsylvania credit union earlier this month is also a “person of interest” in the slaying of his wife, who was found stabbed eight days later.

A passer-by found the body 51-year-old Linda Gordon on Friday morning in a grassy area of a city street in Erie.

Two hours later, Erie police charged 57-year-old Billy Ray Gordon with robbing the Erie Federal Credit Union on July 14. Gordon remained in the Erie County jail on Tuesday, unable to post $150,000 bond on the robbery charges.

Police Chief Randy Bowers tells the Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/2albcDc ) that Gordon is also a “person of interest” in his wife’s death.

Gordon doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records. He faces an Aug. 2 preliminary hearing on the robbery charges.
