DENVER (AP) - Authorities have confirmed that a body pulled from the Colorado River in Grand County is that of an Avon teenager who went missing last week.

The sheriff’s office identified the teen Tuesday as Patrick Maccormick Kelsall, who went missing while camping near Gore Canyon during a kayaking trip with a friend.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/Xh7RfX ) the friend went to collect firewood at around midnight Wednesday, and Kelsall was gone when he returned. The 19-year-old was reported missing Thursday, and his body was found Saturday about 25 feet below the water’s surface.

The coroner’s office has not said how Kelsall died.
