PASCO, Wash. (AP) - Pasco Police say an officer broke the window of a van to pull a 2-year-old to safety in 100-degree heat.

The Tri-City Herald reports (https://goo.gl/emsht1 ) the child’s mom had accidentally locked the doors of her van with the keys inside.

Police said on Facebook that the toddler was only in the vehicle for a few minutes but already was in distress.

Police say the toddler was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was doing fine.
