MANDAREE, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s Oil and Gas Division says a lightning strike at a saltwater disposal well in McKenzie County led to the release of 92,400 gallons of brine.

Bosque Disposal Systems LLC reported Monday that the 2,200 barrels of brine was contained and recovered at the site about 7 miles northwest of Mandaree. A barrel holds 42 gallons.

A state inspector has visited the site.
