LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Police in Lafayette say three people suffered stab wounds in an early morning altercation in a parking lot.

KATC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2aeJ70J ) that the incident happened at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The victims told police they were sitting inside of a vehicle when two men approached the car. The two suspects were looking for an individual who the victims did not know.

The suspects reportedly drove away - returning about 20 minutes later with two other men.

The two groups began fighting. One suspect produced a knife and stabbed all three victims. The suspects ran before police arrived.

Two victims were hospitalized in stable condition. A third was treated and released.
