MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 60-year-old homeless man has been found floating in the Clinton River in suburban Detroit.

The Macomb County sheriff’s department says the body was spotted by a boater on Tuesday night in the water near MacArthur Park in Mount Clemens and was tangled in debris. Sheriff’s Lt. John Michalke tells The Detroit News the boater called 911.

Michalke says the dead man was found with identification and was recognized by sheriff’s deputies. His name wasn’t immediately released.

In a statement, the department says there were no signs of foul play. Investigators were working to determine how the man died and how long his body was in the water.
