FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 63-year-old man who died after crashing into a bridge guard rail on Interstate 29 in southeastern North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol said Wednesday that Dennis Herr of Fargo was traveling south in the northbound lanes, and his car drifted onto the shoulder and hit the guard rail about 6 miles south of Fargo.

Herr died at the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was alone in the car.

The Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
