LECLAIRE, Iowa (AP) - A LeClaire man has been criminally charged after hospital staff say they discovered his 2-month-old daughter had multiple broken bones.

Davenport television station KWQC says (https://bit.ly/2axlYJf ) 33-year-old Jonathan Rose was arrested Tuesday and charged with child endangerment resulting in bodily injury.

Police say Rose brought his daughter to a Davenport hospital on Monday, where she was found to have a broken leg and at least three broken ribs.

Police say Rose became frustrated that he could not get his daughter to stop crying and that he “pushed on her hips to check her legs from a previous incident when he heard ‘a pop.’” Police say he also admitted to squeezing the baby.

Rose is free on $50,000 bail. A call to a home listing for Rose went unanswered Wednesday.
