LAUREL, Del. (AP) - Natural Resources Police say a man was shot while he was in a car in the parking lot at Tussock Pond in Laurel.

The agency said in a news release that two men were in the car Tuesday night when, the driver said, a man approached the vehicle, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Police say the driver quickly drove from the parking lot, but his passenger was shot in the back. Authorities say the passenger, who lives in Mardella Springs, Maryland, was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Officers say the passenger is in serious but stable condition.
