RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Three people have been found dead following a house fire in south Richmond.

Richmond Fire Department Lt. Chris Armstrong tells news outlets that firefighters pulled two adult females and one male child from the home Wednesday morning but were unable to revive them.

Authorities did not immediately release the names of the victims. Armstrong says their bodies have been taken to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the exact cause of death.

Armstrong says the fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. Fire marshals are investigating how it started.
