HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Lewis and Clark County officials have suspended the search for a stunt motorcyclist who crashed while trying to ride across Canyon Ferry Reservoir.

Sheriff’s Capt. Jason Grimmis says the search was suspended Tuesday afternoon to allow search teams to rest and “develop a new game plan.”

Crews searched for three days for 19-year-old Blake Becker of Clancy, who apparently sank while trying to ride a modified motorcycle across the water on Saturday night. Becker had apparently ridden the bike 17 miles across the water earlier in July and was trying to duplicate the effort at night.

Officials say he was wearing a lighted helmet and a life vest and had a spotter boat nearby when he crashed.

Grimmis says searchers were unable to find any clues that would lead them to send divers into the water.
