GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A Grand Forks man has been sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of another man last fall.

Thirty-seven-year-old Nicolas Peralez Jr. initially was charged with murder in the death last October of 31-year-old Joshua Neumann outside Neumann’s apartment. Peralez pleaded guilty last month to a reduced charge of manslaughter and was sentenced Wednesday.

Court documents show that Peralez was given credit for nearly a year he’s already spent behind bars. WDAZ-TV reports that Peralez will be eligible for parole in about seven years.
