FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Police say the deaths of a man and a young girl in a Fairfax County house fire may have been a murder-suicide.

The fire occurred Wednesday at 11 a.m. on Fairfax Hunt Road. Firefighters discovered the bodies of the man and toddler in the home. On Thursday, Fairfax County Police identified the man as 58-year-old Roy Eugene Rumsey, who was the apparent homeowner.

Police say they have not identified the toddler, nor what relationship, if any, there was between Rumsey and the girl.

Police said they are investigating the case as a possible murder-suicide.

Police said their investigation is ongoing and they are awaiting autopsy results from the medical examiner.
