PAULSBORO, N.J. (AP) - A snake said to be 10-12 feet long and weighing in at about 60 pounds has been corralled and returned to its owner after it was spotted under a southern New Jersey porch.

Paulsboro police say they were sent to a home Tuesday night for a report of a large snake believed to be a boa constrictor under a porch. But before animal control could get there, it escaped into a hole.

Police warned residents about letting pets outside while the reptile was on the lam.

The department said Wednesday night that the snake had been found and returned to its owner. No other details were released, including whether it was a boa constrictor or how it escaped.
