MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state Auditor Doug Hoffer says a review of three departments of state government finds performance evaluations were done last year for just 27 of 181 employees.

He says the audit was prompted by a survey done by the state employees’ union that found 63 percent of respondents got annual reviews in 2015.

Hoffer says his office focused on the departments of Human Resources, Innovation and Information and Finance and Management, because the union survey found they had some of the lowest levels of performance reviews completed.

He says some employees hadn’t had reviews in more than five years.
