JACKSONVILLE, Ore. (AP) - Jackson County authorities arrested a 35-year-old man accused of killing a woman at a home near Ruch.

Deputies have not described the manner in which 23-year-old Alexis Stormo was killed, but say it did not involve a firearm. An autopsy is planned.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports (https://bit.ly/2ag5TCj) Todd Wilcox was booked into jail on a murder charge.

Court records show Wilcox pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in connection with an October 2014 confrontation in downtown Portland. He was sentenced to probation and community service, and ordered to take anger management.

The homicide was the second in the area in fewer than 12 hours. On Tuesday, a 26-year-old Jacksonville woman was accused of fatally shooting an uncle at a home near Applegate.
