LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) - A spokesman for Balsams Grand Resort’s redevelopment team says work on the trails and lifts of their Wilderness Ski Area could begin within the next few months.

The Caledonian Record reports (https://bit.ly/2azwmQD ) developers for Balsams met with the Coos County Planning Board Tuesday to go over the resort’s site plan application for their proposed ski area expansion project.

Planning Board member Leon Rideout says the development team is required to submit more information before their application is deemed complete.

The estimated $143 million redevelopment seeks to restore the hundreds of jobs that were lost when the resort closed in 2011. It would be the largest economic development project in Coos County.

If the project is approved, the expanded ski area is scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 winter season.
