BEND, Ore. (AP) - A Bend woman has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for killing her 92-year-old grandmother on New Year’s Eve.

The Bulletin reports (https://is.gd/HeuGGo ) that 45-year-old Angela Judd was sentenced on Thursday to serve 75 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter in Deschutes County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors accused Judd of smothering Nada Bodholdt with a pillow in the nursing home where the grandmother was living on New Year’s Eve 2015.

Bodholdt was initially thought to have died of natural causes. The possibility of foul play only arose when Judd allegedly made a statement to her social worker.

Judd was initially charged with murder but she accepted a plea agreement earlier this month.
