SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A convicted felon already behind bars has been charged with killing four men as they sat in a car last year in a trendy San Francisco neighborhood.

The San Francisco Chronicle (https://bit.ly/2alHBIv ) says 27-year-old Lee Farley was charged Friday with murder.

Farley already was serving federal prison time for possessing a stolen gun. His previous criminal record also includes burglary, illegal gun possession and cocaine dealing.

Prosecutors contend that Farley was among attackers who fired more than a dozen shots at a parked Honda Civic in the Hayes Valley neighborhood in January 2015.

Authorities believed the attack was gang-related, although family members said one man had no gang affiliation and had simply asked a friend for a ride.
