TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Bands of heavy rain are slowing the morning commute as they move across New Jersey.

A flash flood watch is in effect for most of the state until noon Friday. Forecasters say an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain, with localized higher amounts are possible throughout the morning.

The main threat of flooding is in low-lying areas.

Police are reporting some streets are flooded in Newark and Jersey City.
