RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Reno-Sparks Convention Center made $317 million in taxable sales in the fiscal year that ended on June 30.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/2aANHaZ ) that according to a report by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, in addition to sales the convention center was able to finish the year with 71,000 bookings in June, bringing the center up to meet about 95 percent of its booking goal for the fiscal year.

June accounted for nearly a third of the fiscal year’s 227,000 total bookings.

Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitor Authority Inteim Managing Director Jennifer Cunningham says as the economy in the area improves and businesses move to Reno the convention center is becoming a bigger destination.
