ELKVIEW, W.Va. (AP) - A woman has been charged after police say her backpack contained more than $100,000 in drugs.

WCHS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2atnaN5) that West Virginia State Police responded Saturday evening to an Elkview apartment complex after residents reported a strong chemical odor.

Sgt. R. Mathis says 47-year-old Kelly Jean Arnett at the location when he arrived. He says he found a backpack lying next to a vehicle, and that Arnett said the backpack was hers and that she had rented the car.

Police searched the backpack and found marijuana, crystal meth and prescription medications valued at $108,000. A firearm was also found.

Arnett was arrested for possession with intent to distribute narcotics and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. It’s unclear if she has an attorney.
