SANDWICH, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who apparently drowned while diving for lobsters at a Cape Cod beach.

The Cape Cod Times reports (https://bit.ly/29cvSel) the body of Michael Dearth was found floating in the water off Town Neck Beach in Sandwich at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. A kayaker notified the Coast Guard, and the local fire department also responded.

A spokeswoman for the Cape and Islands district attorney’s office says the death was likely accidental.

Sandwich police said the 55-year-old Orleans resident drowned but did not provide further details.

The death remains under investigation.
