EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police say they have seized a large quantity of illegal fireworks from a home in East Haven after a monthslong investigation.

State and local police and members of the FBI in New Haven responded to the home around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say investigators seized a large amount of commercial-grade shells, commercial-grade multi-shots, homemade commercial-type shells, consumer-grade packages containing several thousand shots, rockets, manufacturing and firing equipment and more.

State police say the investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
