COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - Some family members of Vermonters who died while serving their country in the military are going to be honored by the National Guard.

The Vermont National Guard Fallen Heroes Memorial Committee is going to honor some of the state’s Gold Star families during a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park on Monday.

The families will be honored on the field and the Vermont Air National Guard’s 158th Fighter Wing will be performing a fly-over before the start of the game.

Brig. Gen. Joel Clark, the president Vermont National Guard Charitable Foundation, says the sacrifices of the families will never be forgotten.

The primary purpose of the Fallen Heroes Committee is to honor Vermont National Guardsmen who died during their service as well as their families.
