LAKE WYLIE, S.C. (AP) - Officials say they have found the body of a man who jumped off his disabled boat to swim for help in Lake Wylie.

Authorities told media outlets that 49-year-old David Napper’s body was found around 7 p.m. Saturday near the Buster Boyd Bridge.

Investigators say Napper was not far from his boat, which broke down Friday morning. A woman on board told authorities Napper dove off to get help and she never saw him again.

Napper was the second person to drown on Lake Wylie on Friday. Authorities say 40-year-old Lester Cook III drowned while working on a dock.
