SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake City authorities are searching for a former day care worker accused of sexually abusing a boy.

KUTV reports (https://bit.ly/2akWgCe) that a felony charge of sexual abuse of a child was filed Thursday against 19-year-old Carlos Rodriguez.

Det. Cody Lougy says police believe Rodriguez has gone on the run and the public’s help is needed to locate him.

According to court documents, the victim’s mother picked up her four kids from Destinations II Children’s Center in March. Her 5-year-old son then told her about the alleged abuse.

According to the boy, Rodriguez allegedly fondled him and pulled his pants down several times during nap time.

Lougy says police spent weeks investigating and going through the case with the district attorney.
