LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada prison officials say an inmate is missing after walking away from a work assignment in Las Vegas.

KLAS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2acf5bj) that Juwan Ameil Stuart was last seen around 12:30 p.m. Friday while doing a cleaning assignment at the corner of I-95 and Valley View.

The state Department of Corrections says he was working with the Nevada Division of Forestry, which trains minimum security inmates to battle wildland fires.

According to authorities, Stuart has been living at Three Lakes Valley Conservation Camp, about 30 miles north of Las Vegas.

The 36-year-old has been imprisoned since March 23.

He is serving 14 to 48 months for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Stuart is described as 5-foot-10 with brown eyes and black hair. He is roughly 200 pounds.
